Brief

Interior Design in BristolTo decorate a family room in a Georgian farmhouse.

Considerations

This was a cold and uninviting room and the existing décor was fussy and uninspiring. The best feature of the room was the beautiful window and the garden outside.

Solution

  • The shutters and the window were painted the same colour and a window seat was created. This gave a focal point to the room.
  • The walls were painted a soft neutral colour to keep the emphasis on the window.
  • The shelf that went round the room was removed, this meant that paintings could be hung properly.
  • The central contemporary chandelier replaced the dated lighting.
